Jr. NBA Global Championship

Tournament will consist of boys teams and girls teams. All competing teams will be guaranteed a minimum of four (4) games. Each regional tournament will consist of bracket play. The winner of the Championship bracket will advance to the Jr. NBA Regional.

  • Teams play two games on each day
  • 30 second shot clock will be used for all games.
  • Teams are in a bracket format
  • The second day of each tourney, teams are placed in Championship brackets and Consolation brackets depending on day 1. 
  • Winner of the Championship bracket will advance to the Jr. NBA Regional, and a chance to qualify for the Jr. NBA World Championships

A game is considered a loss by forfeit if the team is not present or is unable to field five players that are ready to play 10 minutes after the scheduled game time, or if the teams actions prevent the game from being played. It is also a forfeit if the team refuses to play after being instructed to do so by the officials. Subject to Tournament Operator discretion, if a team does not have a coach/bench personnel in the appropriate attire (listed here), the team will incur a forfeit. Forfeits of this kind are considered a 20- point loss.

A game is considered a forfeit if a game is called early because a team has fewer that two players. If the team awarded with the win is leading, the score at the time of stopped play shall stand as the official score. If the team forfeiting due to fewer than two players is leading the game, the game will be considered a loss of 0-2 for the forfeiting team.

Each parent/player must complete a waiver and release form as part of registration. Under no circumstances will a player be allowed to participate without a completed waiver and release form on file. 

The Jr. NBA World Championship will follow rules adapted from USA Basketball (USAB) youth tournament rule set. For a full list of tournament rules here.

Schedules will be released 6 days prior to the tournament through email communications and on the Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy site. 

Team registration and final roster deadline is the Friday prior to the tournament.
